Holistic Beauty by Forgotten Essentials

Today’s beauty review is for Forgotten Essentials, a LA-based holistic bath and beauty company run by Leah Guerrero and Sara Larios. I was lucky to have the opportunity to test out some of their holistic beauty products, and I’m so glad I did!

The first product I tried was the Honey Body Polish. This scrub smells amazing. It has raw cactus honey, raw turmeric, raw cinnamon, sea salt, and essential oils to create a heavenly aroma. The cinnamon and turmeric brighten the skin while the sea salt and honey exfoliate. I’ve been so into scrubs recently, and this scrub in particular was very gentle on my skin. Usually when I exfoliate I’ll take a coarse scrub and rub my body over and over to refresh my skin. This scrub, however, was more liquidy than solid salt scrubs, so I put in on places where I don’t usually apply scrubs like my chest and face to exfoliate sensitive areas. It worked so well and smells and feels so nice that I’ve grown to really enjoy this part of my shower ritual.

Stepping out of the shower today I had some shaving burn, so I used the Heaven Sent Body Cream to soothe the skin. Immediately my burn resided and I my skin felt moisturized and not clogged by the product. The body cream contains raw shea, raw cocoa raw beeswax, raw coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and essential oils.

Now, I have always been interested in using sustainable, hard deodorants but have never actually tried them. And I have to say that I love this product! The deodorant has raw coconut oil and beeswax inside, among other natural ingredients. It feels so soft and gentle on my underarms. Since the product contains all-natural ingredients that condition the skin, I think it’s better to place this product on my body than to not place it on my body, which I would never say about any department store deodorant that I’ve used in the past. I took a small amount of the deodorant and massaged it into my underarms. It melted away in a couple of seconds and smells like lavender, which is a pretty, calming aroma to me.

I really liked these products, and I am happy to give high reviews to each one! You can find these items at http://forgottenessentials.com/productsIt’s so great to support holistic, all-natural beauty. It’s really amazing how you can attain the same results from an eco-bath or beauty product that you can from a product that has toxins or strange chemicals. It makes me wonder why I haven’t made this transition sooner. I guess I had thought. “There’s no way a handful of all-natural ingredients can effectively deodorize my body… you’d need a synthetic chemical to do that…right?” Well, that’s totally wrong, ha! And Forgotten Essentials has once again reaffirmed what I’ve learned to be true: sustainable, all-natural, holistic beauty is always the way to go!

  1. Great review! I’m always looking for a great all natural deodorant, I’ll have to check out the Forgotten Essentials Earth Deodorant. I’m also in awe at how cheap it is!

    1. Thanks Mirjana! This was my first time using a solid all-natural deodorant. Forgotten Essentials is reasonably priced so it’s a great business to start experimenting with eco and natural beauty. 🙂
