OOTD: Black and White Striped Dress

I hope you all had a chance to enjoy nature and spend some time outside. But no fret if you did not! Have a nice Sunday afternoon on your porch, take a walk, or close your eyes while you meditate in a sunny spot. When people connect with nature and feel it’s love and energy, a passion is ignited. And with that passion comes change…which is what the world really needs. ✿

As for this week’s OOTD, I found this beautifully made black and white striped dress for $16 at a thrift store in Orange County. I really like this piece because it’s made of a thicker polyester material and feels secure and snug on my body. The white horizontal stripes along the piece pop out a half inch which gives the dress a funky, dynamic look. I did some investigating on the brand name and found that it’s originally from Nordstroms, which is always nice to hear! I’m a big fan of pieces that have interesting cuts, so I really like the large scoop line showing my back.

The necklace I paired it with was $15 at the same thrift shop, made of silver. I’ve been waiting for the right chunky metal necklace, so I was happy to find such an interesting bold piece. Have you ever found an expensive item at a thrift store for really cheap? How much money did you save by going thrift? I’d love to hear!

  1. A beautiful dress and a beautiful blog! I love thrifting not only because I feel it is more ethical but because you come across some absolute gems that you’d otherwise never find! This is a great blog and a wonderful example of how easy it is to look fashionable while not giving a fortune to corrupt businesses!

    1. Hi Kate, thank you so much! I totally agree with you. It’s really fun to walk into secondhand stores with an open mind too. I feel extra creative when I can look at pieces that may be worn out or not my size, and style it in a way that still looks really nice. Thanks for the support 🙂
