OOTD: Poncho and Square-Toed Boots

Last Saturday I was happy to find out that the Goodwill was having a super sale where all clothing was $2.99! I jumped in the car with a girlfriend and we headed to a nearby Goodwill to scout the sales. I came across this crochet poncho and immediately loved it.

I’ve never owned a poncho, yet this one seemed to be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Most of my clothing is very summery and light, material-wise, so a poncho was perfect to throw over jeans and whatever top I want to cover up and gain a little warmth for a winter day in Los Angeles.

Anything with a fringe and a lot of color suits my taste, so I know I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this guy. Crochet  has been big in store like Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, which kind of makes me laugh. All of the sudden my grandma’s crochet blankets and scarves are trendy and hipster. Style and trends are fascinating to me, and sometimes I’m okay to roll along in this bandwagon of crocheted madness (especially when I find a treasure this this poncho!).

I am also excited to share with you my new boots! These are stiletto heeled suede boots that hit the high calf. They have a squared-toe and a long zipper to slip into for a fitted length. They are super sexy, polished, and I snagged them for $5.50! I’ve been able to acquire the most gorgeous high-quality boot collection from popping into secondhand shops.

These pieces are stunning, and it makes me happy to rock pre-worn, pre-loved pieces. I have gratitude for whoever wore these before me, and am thankful for their generosity to donate to secondhand shops. It’s a beautiful cycle of using, departing, reusing, utilizing, giving, and sharing love. That’s what sustainability is all about, and that’s one of many reasons why I’ll choose sustainable fashion over fast fashion, any day!
