Alpine Pure Oil by TellurideGlow
As a lover of all things skincare, I’m excited to share a new sustainable beauty oil that has made my face feel calm and hydrated. This botanical, all-natural Alpine Pure Oil is by TellurideGlow!
It’s a blend of 24 nourishing plant extracts, oils, vitamins and minerals to rejuvenate and nourish the skin. The facial oil absorbs quickly into the derma layer, providing intense skin hydration that doesn’t clog my pores. TellurideGlow‘s Alpine Pure Oil is also free of chemicals and preservatives with 100% natural and 95% certified organic ingredients. Not only is this a fantastic product for the face, it has several other applications. It’s a one-stop product that covers an array of uses which couldn’t make your green beauty routine any simpler.
Heart of Origin
As I’ve reiterated in Sustainable Daisy many times, the pure, kind heart of everything radiates a certain goodness in the world. Like clothing we wear, all things were created by someone and have a story to tell. I’ve realized that this state of origin that I reflect on with sustainable fashion is totally similar to that of green beauty. There’s something that feels extra special when you can use a product that you know was made by someone who has spent a tremendous amount of time and love creating the product.
I think we often place blind trust into brands we purchase. I’ve learned that as a conscious consumer and an environmentalist l have to pay extra attention to seek brands with the best intention for their buyers and the world we live in. What makes TellurideGlow special is their beautiful storyline and transparency.
The idea creating a nourishing oil serum came from Mary Alice, an executive in the New York Fashion industry who currently spends much of her retirement in the mountains of Telluride, Colorado. Mary Alice explains how there’s nothing more beautiful nor powerful than nature, which is a daily reminder living in Telluride.
With time to practice true wellness in her own life, Mary Alice was interested in creating a powerful, natural skincare product that could keep her skin healthy despite the dry mountain climate.
Mary Alice set her standards then consulted with botanical chemists and aromatherapists to test combinations of organic, GMO-free, natural ingredients into an effective and healthy skincare brand known as TellurideGlow.
Kind Ingredients
With high levels of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, TellurideGlow‘s Alpine Pure Oil helps rejuvenate the skin with healthy ingredients. The facial oil hits all the marks by also being vegan and cruelty-free, gluten-free, and made locally in the USA.
What’s great about the TellurideGlow website is that all the ingredients are listed with the correlating bodily regime they provide. For example, it explains how lavender oil is a deeply healing and highly anti-inflammatory ancient botanical and that pomegranate seed oil aids in anti-oxidant protection and skin hydration, penetrating easily and deeply to create lasting, non-greasy moisture.
This type of transparency gains my respect, because it’s rarely seen on most commercial products due to the typical chemically or synthetic nature of common brands. Since all the ingredients used are natural or organic, I feel comfortable using it on different body parts, including my face, hands, elbows, hair, and knees.
Eco-friendly Packaging
A really cool thing about receiving the Alpine Pure Oil was the sustainable packaging. Ditching the packing peanuts, my beautiful recyclable glass bottle came with recycled cardboard filler.
It was also packaged with repurposed biodegradable wrapping, making it both functional and aesthetic. This is an example of a small detail that makes a great sustainable brand into an awesome sustainable brand—the extra thought and consciousness to minimize their footprint and think about the impact of their business. I respect that!
Giving Back
Another great thing about TellurideGlow is their support for the nonprofit Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP) located in Telluride, Colorado. The Telluride Adaptive Sports Program provides positive adventure to people with disabilities. TASP is proud to be a leader in the adaptive industry by providing high quality instructors and individualized attention to every participant, ranging in age from 4 to 94 who may have physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities.
With the help of TASP, essential skills and recreational opportunities encourage independence, confidence, and achieving personal goals. I love the idea of supporting nonprofits with a mission to help people to be the best they can be though games, sports, and the outdoors!
My Experience
As you guys probably know by now, l love using oils on my skin. One of my most self-loving practices is gently cleansing my face and using rich, warm oils to hydrate and nourish my skin. I do this, change out my pillowcase, light a soy candle, and I feel so content. I’ve used several types of oils over the years: coconut, jojoba, argan, rosehip, you name it—my skin loves it! What’s different about TellurideGlow’s Alpine Pure Oil is that it has all these oils combined, and then some! The formula also includes evening primrose oil, geranium essential oil, lavender essential oil, pomegranate seed oil, watermelon seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, cranberry seed oil, plum seed oil, moringa seed oil, and more…
Natural Make-up Remover
After a long day I like to use the Alpine Pure Oil as a makeup remover and cleanser by massaging a few drops over my face then laying a warm wet cloth over my face. The experience is spa-like and the dirt and debris melt off, leaving clean, hydrated skin.
Moisturizer
After a warm cleanse, I use the facial oil as an evening moisturizer. I place a few drops onto my palms and rub them together before lightly distributing the product on my face. The aromatherapy is heavenly before bedtime and helps to soothe and relax.
Hair Mask
Another way I use this product is as a hairmask. I used about 6-8 drops on the tips of my hair to hydrate my split ends. I found that this method is great to do on the go because the product doesn’t create a greasy appearance.
Body Hydration
Lastly, I use the oil for my knees and elbows for hydrate dry areas of my body.
Aromatherapy
With any excess facial oil on my palms I really enjoy taking a moment to breathe in the scent and close my eyes for a 30 second moment of meditation. Geranium, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Roman Chamomile, Frankincense and Sweet Orange are calming and really relax me before I hop into bed. On a typical day I find myself encountering a situation that can give me anxiety or stress (such as my evening commute).
I find that the repetitive, routine practice of embracing a moment and breathing in a calming scent is a pattern that can help create a balanced life. Sometimes meditation can seem overwhelming to me — 20 minutes of mindless concentration can be a challenge. But, as I’ve talked to yogis in my life, they’ve taught me that just 5 minutes a day, or even just 30 seconds in this case, is a pattern that can have surprisingly healing results.
