OOTD: Bohemian Skirt

It’s when you’re not trying to express your clothing through your being, but the clothes themselves accentuate who you are as a person. Too deep? Maybe. But Hell, I love this outfit and I feel so myself. How great would it be if we could wake up everyday and feel beautiful and totally ourselves. Sometimes when I wear certain items I feel like a poser, for lack of a better word. But when I throw on a maxi skirt, boots, and a floppy sunhat and I feel very much like Karen. A good feeling indeed.

I bought this lovely long skirt at a thrift shop for $4. It has black buttons sewn along the back side with a button and fabric clasp in the front to give the skirt an optional draped look. The floral pasiley-like design and lace trim makes the piece super feminine and dainty.

The skirt is pieced together with ample material, so it’s extremely comfortable and whirly when I walk. The aesthetic movement as I wander about, combined with comfort and effortlessness are a few reasons why I love wearing maxi skirts like this so much.

If you’re curious, you can check out their sustainable efforts here. I love wearing ethically sourced clothing; it’s a small thing I can support and emphasize through my wardrobe that can make a greater impact.

  1. I’m absolutely in LOVE with this look! It’s made me even more excited for summer here in VA.

Especially the hat! I love that it’s olive colored…. it’s perfect!

  2. Wow, you look just adorable and free! So happy you found my blog so I could find yours. I like the profile of your blog, obviously, since I also blog about sustainability and second hand!

Oh, and please look up Sadness Theory on Spotify or Sound cloud, it’s music about environment and consumption! I think you will like it. 😀
