Paisley Dress by Stormie Dreams
Stormie Dreams is a sustainable fashion company that believes in emphasizing progressive change. Stormie Dreams strives to do what they can to reduce their carbon footprint and inspire sustainable responsibility by taking a sustainable business model head on. I’m excited today because I linked up with Stormie Dreams to review this amazing paisley dress!
Like in my last post, I love this company because they source their clothing ethically and are a part of the Penny Jar Project: a nonprofit that supports orphaned children in Africa. Stormie Dreams strives to be environmentally aware, so they do not produce their fabric from textile mills which often emit high amount of air pollution. Instead, Stormie Dreams sources fabric locally and donates excess fabric for children in joint with the Penny Jar Project.
This dress has a great cut—I’m a fan of the ¾ length sleeve, scoop neckline, and the hem just above the knees. All visual aspects of the dress are quite flattering on any body type which makes it a confident buy if you’re unable to try one on yourself. It’s also a great piece to throw on if you want to instantly glam up your look since there’s no fussy straps or layering needed. The dress has a unique design with hints of tan, beige, and rose detailing that complement each color well. What’s also great about Stormie Dreams is how affordable and comfortable their clothing is! What’s the point of wearing a fancy detailed dress if it’s scratchy and uncomfortable?
I own several solid Stormie Dreams pieces in my closet and I think they look great because I’m so comfortable in them, so it makes me feel confident in my own skin. Crazy how clothing can really shape your attitude, isn’t it? Throw in an awesome philanthropic mission and eco-awakened business model and the goodness within the source of this outfit will give you a little pep in your step. Seriously—I think putting clothing on your body that come from a joyful, loving, thoughtful source can make you feel lighter and happier. Call me crazy… I think there’s truth in it!
I paired the paisley dress with a secondhand leather jacket handed down to me by my older sister. She was in the process of cleaning out her closet to sell clothes to Crossroads and I was able to snag this piece before she sold it off. The cut of the jacket is cropped, which is great because I have a longer torso. I think the jacket helps define my waist and put more emphasis on the length of my lower half too which I love.
I also wore my thrifted boots! These are square-toed, three-inch heeled fabric booties. They are so incredibly unique and I literally picked them up for a few dollars! Lastly, I topped off the outfit with a sunhat that I upcycled by adding on a black pom-pom trim.
I am an Angelino, so I’m so happy to be introduced to a brand that in centered in Los Angeles, so the package doesn’t have to travel too far at all. Stormie Dreams has eliminated plastic poly bags from their packaging and uses more eco-friendly materials which is another awesome plus.
