About

Sustainable Daisy’s mission is to create a more sustainable, eco-friendly wardrobe, beauty routine, and lifestyle. This blog is a combination of three passions I hold to heart: fashion, beauty, and making the world a better place!

About the Creator

Hi, my name is Karen! Environmentalism is my passion, personally and professionally, and I love to love this planet.

Sustainable Daisy is home for earth lovers to join together to become more conscious consumers. Sustainable Daisy celebrates a community of people who are excited to embrace the best in fashion and beauty while truly caring about the transparency of the fair treatment of workers and the ecologically-responsible extraction of resources. The beauty people who care so much about protecting life and fighting to stop injustices excites and inspires me every day. Likewise, I create review posts on brands run by passionate people who are excited about eco-friendly goals that are lasting and impressionable to the world.

Why Be Sustainable?

By living sustainably I’ve been able to save money, experience gratitude for what I own, and attain a sense of peace knowing that my small lifestyle changes are attributing towards a greater good. I’m convinced that we can make a positive impact in the world, and I encourage you to join me! Plus, living sustainably makes you happy.

Thrifting Philosophy

I like to rework existing materials from secondhand shops into fashionable outfits and DIYs. This process highlights the value of what’s old, well-made, and what has a story.  I hope to offer inspiration on how to upcycle thrifted items, utilize ethically-made products, and ultimately encourage a financially and environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

As an avid thrifter I thought ecofashion was something I could offer reputable insight towards, and it’s been a blast! I aim to change people’s mindset to emphasize that things do not lose value after being the second or third person to own or wear that item. I hope to underline that living sustainably is not difficult, expensive, or a lesser version of fast fashion and beauty.

Let’s Connect!

I’m always looking for new ways to spread my message and connect with similar thinkers and eco-conscious companies. If you have any questions or an interest in collaborating (or want to say hi!) send me an email: sustainabledaisy@gmail.com and subscribe to keep updated with the latest posts.

Much Love,

  3. What a great blog! Beautiful photographs on a beautiful platform. I really like the idea of making an eco-friendly wardrobe central to an eco-friendly lifestyle; most people just consider things like their diets and what they recycle. Thanks!

    1. Thank you so much! I totally agree, I think it’s great to initiate conversations on sustainable fashion because it helps people understand that things don’t have to be brand new to have value. Sharing, borrowing are great practices with not only clothing, but items in general. Thanks for reading and stopping by 🙂

  4. Thank you for liking my post – it led me to yours! I love what you do, and your ethos – it seems similar to the motivation behind my blog (where I hope to do more posts about what I thrift in the future). Followed 🙂

  5. Hey Karen – thanks for checking out my blog and leading me to Sustainable Daisy. Beautiful photos and a great cause.

  6. I have to absolutely agree. I used a lot of second hand clothes for my children. I want to add that it often has better quality and doesn’t contain as much pollutants as new clothes (due to washing).
Your upcycle ideas are truly inspiring.

    1. Thank you so much, it’s great to hear other people who share a similar perspective/passion. Starting this blog has changed my life in subtle ways. I’ve saved a lot of money and feel more creative/inspired to think outside the box when it comes to fashion. Some of my favorite high-quality pieces are secondhand. Great note about pollutants, I’d like to write about other environmental factors like that. Thank you for the support!
